Discover Ristorante I Carusi

Located at Via Andrea Doria, 22, 98071 Capo d'Orlando ME, Italy, Ristorante I Carusi is a gem that offers a taste of authentic Italian cuisine in a charming setting. Nestled in the heart of Capo d'Orlando, this cozy restaurant combines traditional recipes with a touch of innovation, making it a must-visit for anyone seeking high-quality food and a warm, welcoming atmosphere.

As soon as you step inside, the ambiance is striking. The restaurant balances a rustic, yet modern feel, with wooden beams and soft lighting that creates an inviting environment. The layout is spacious but intimate, perfect for both casual dinners and special occasions. Whether you’re visiting with family or friends, you’ll feel right at home from the moment you arrive.

The heart of Ristorante I Carusi lies in its menu, which showcases the best of Sicilian cuisine. Each dish is prepared with fresh, locally sourced ingredients that highlight the region's rich culinary traditions. The menu is thoughtfully curated, offering a wide range of choices, from mouth-watering seafood dishes to delicious pasta options, ensuring that every guest finds something they’ll enjoy.

One of the standout dishes is the spaghetti alle vongole (spaghetti with clams). It’s a classic Sicilian dish, and I Carusi does it exceptionally well. The spaghetti is perfectly cooked, with just the right amount of bite, and the clams are tender and flavorful. The dish is finished off with a sprinkle of fresh parsley, adding a burst of color and a light, herbaceous note that ties everything together beautifully. If you’re a fan of seafood, this dish alone is reason enough to visit.

Another must-try is the arancini, Sicilian rice balls stuffed with a variety of fillings. These crispy, golden balls are a true delight and make for a perfect starter. The combination of crunchy outer layers with a creamy, savory filling makes them irresistible. They pair wonderfully with a chilled glass of Sicilian white wine, which is another highlight of the restaurant. The wine list at Ristorante I Carusi features a carefully selected range of local wines that complement the dishes beautifully.

For those craving something heartier, the grilled swordfish is a perfect choice. Swordfish is a popular seafood in the region, and Ristorante I Carusi knows just how to prepare it. The fish is grilled to perfection, offering a delicate smoky flavor, while still maintaining its juicy, tender texture. Paired with a side of roasted vegetables or a fresh salad, this dish is sure to satisfy your cravings.

The dessert menu at Ristorante I Carusi is equally impressive. Cannoli is a classic Sicilian treat, and the restaurant’s version is mouth-wateringly good. The crispy shell is filled with a rich, sweet ricotta filling that’s flavored with just the right touch of citrus, offering a refreshing and satisfying end to your meal.

What sets this restaurant apart is not just the food, but the exceptional service. The staff at Ristorante I Carusi are attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable about the menu. They take the time to make recommendations and ensure that every guest has a memorable experience. It’s clear that they take great pride in their work and in providing top-notch hospitality. Whether it’s explaining the origins of a dish or offering suggestions based on your preferences, you’ll feel well taken care of throughout your visit.

The location is also ideal for visitors exploring the area. Capo d'Orlando is known for its beautiful beaches and vibrant local culture, making Ristorante I Carusi a great spot to relax and enjoy a delicious meal after a day of sightseeing. The combination of exceptional food, great service, and a welcoming atmosphere makes this restaurant a standout choice in the region.

In terms of pricing, Ristorante I Carusi is reasonably priced for the quality of food and service it offers. While it may be slightly higher than casual dining options, it’s definitely worth every penny. The portion sizes are generous, and the quality of ingredients is evident in every dish.

Whether you’re a local or a visitor, Ristorante I Carusi is a must-visit destination in Capo d'Orlando. From its expertly crafted Sicilian dishes to its inviting atmosphere, it’s a place that delivers both culinary excellence and a memorable dining experience. If you're ever in the area, make sure to stop by and enjoy a meal that captures the essence of Sicilian cuisine.

  • My parents celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary at the Carusi restaurant. The food was very fresh and delicious. I loved my mixed seafood spaghettoni, fried mini squids and tiramisu. The service was excellent and the owner was the most friendly and welcoming host, ever! Fantastic experience. I would definetely go back.

  • The food is fresh, good and well presented. The Gamberoni with the cognac were lovely but maybe best if they had been presented peeled to enjoy the cognac sauce. The service from the waiters was good and professional, the owner he chatted with us and was a happy & charming person. The lady that took our order was not as happy though and actually not polite either whilst taking our order , an awkward moment for us !

  • We were advised to go here by local fish market, were they sell fresh catch. When i ask where was the best place to est crudo they sent me here without any hesitation. And it was the best advice ever! From that moment we ate in this restaurant every day of vacation. How can i describe the best fresh fish and seafood? Just perfection. They have huge menu with a lot of options: and every receipt has its roots in local traditions and culture. Ideas of marrying different ingridients which you can see feel and taste only in this part of not the world, not the country, but in this part of Sicily itself. I cant reccomend highly enough pink gamberi and gamberoni (shrimps) straight from the sea to the table. I cant choose berween all kinds of pasta and ravioli - they all turned out to be so good and absolutely different from each other. Local queen - swordfish - cooked beautifully Fresh tuna which melts in mouth Catch of the day which is fun to choose and so much pleasure to eat, juicy and flavorefull Deserts to die for I am even thinking of planning next vacation around this place. This is a place for guests who love, know and respect what they eat.
